What kind of diet should a fibromyalgia patient have?

Foods to avoid? What types of vitamins are more important than others? Is there a website that has meals for you to try?

Public Comments

1. real fms is NOT food related..

you only need a general healthy diet

if certain foods affect the symptoms--you have a food allergy/sensitivity-NOT fms

be aware--fms is HIGHLY over diagnosed...most people actually have something else...often more treatable

2. There is no specific diet for fibro. Just eat a normal, balanced diet.

My rheumatologist encouraged these vitamins and supplements early on: a good multivitamin (read the labels), sublingual B12 (I did injections initially), C0Q10, malic acid with magnesium. I have continued to take these through the years. Speak with your doctor and ask him for any advice. It's also good to get your Vit D level checked since many people are deficient. Vit D deficiency is an altogether different problem from fibro, but it's good to know how you're doing.

Hope this helps.
