Hey- im on 60 mg of cymbalta for fibromyalgia. im 14 years old btw, female. and i believe 30 or 20 mg of seroquel for bipolar, schizophrenia, and sleeping issues. seroquel knocks me out. i am like dead once i take it. and when i dont take it(or try to get off it slowly) my body freaks out. i throw up, feel like im going to cry and just have a panic attack. what the heck? can someone please explain this to me?

1. Those are symptoms of withdrawal. If you stop taking a medication such as seroquel abruptly it can make you physically ill. You need to take it as prescribed.
2. Seroquel is *supposed* to knock you out. It's a medication that works during your sleep cycles. My ex-boyfriend was put on it for major anxiety issues so that he could sleep. It is a medication that is often used for anxiety problems, and so it probably treats anxiety that you have, so when you go cold turkey off of the medication, it will definitely make you sick and have panic issues.
Psychiatric medications are serious medications that should not be played with. If you are concerned about the issues you are having as side effects, you need to speak with the person that prescribed them to you, as they will be able to properly wean you and then start you on another medication.
However, I would suggest taking your Seroquel at night, which is when it should be taken anyway. Cymbalta should be taken in the morning (I'm on 120mg) because it can act as a stimulant, and it may help you combat any sluggish issues you have in the morning.
3. Hey,I saw your question and just thought I should tell you that I am in a group that deals with situations like these. One of the many things I found out from this group is that per the FDA the side effects of psychiatric drugs include mania, psychosis, depression, suicidal thoughts, and death. If you want to find out more you can go to our website(www.cchrflorida.org) or email back.
