I was diagnosed with neck muscle spasms causing tension headaches, what type of doctor should I see?
My ob/gyn gave me a prescription of 10 mg flexeril daily and over a month later i see no change. these muscle spasms happen EVERY DAY and they cause a tension headache EVERY DAY. this has gone on for YEARS. i just thought it was stress related but its getting serious, it has literally ruined my life. i wake up in pain, i live every day in pain, i go to bed with pain. it never ends. i am desperate to fix this and get my life back.
so the question is.....Neurologist, Orthopedic, or Rheumetologist?
there is also a high chance i have Fibromyalgia so I hear a Neurologist or Rheumetologist would be the direction to go but WHICH ONE should i start with?
note: i am 28, have Endometriosis and a nice long list of issues i need addressed with the PROPER type of doctor. i cannot go through what i went through with the Endometriosis which was a FIVE year process of seeing doctor after doctor surgery after procedure test after test racking up way to many doctor visits/bills.
ok so aside from the fibro, what doctor is best for the muscle spasms and headaches ALONE?

1. although fibromyalgia has been thought to be a disorder of teh central nervous system for thelast 10 years-most doctorsa re uneducated-few neurologists will even work with you-
it was originally claimed as a musculoskeletal disorder-and possibly autoimmune-but that has been essentially disproven
Rheumatologists are the most educated about Fibromyalgia-so start there
be careful some don't believe in it and will diagnos anyone with aches and fatigue with it
foir a list of good docs-

be careful abourt some online lists as they are unscreeened and filled with docs only in it for teh money-fibrobesty screens her list
2. Sometimes having some medical checkups and diagnosis would mean your anxiety after discovering that you have some health complication. Whether this situation will bring you, at least you now know what is wrong. Hearing you have chronic fatigue fibromyalgia is not the best news you could hope for, but there are treatments to help and other therapies that can help give you some peace from the pain and discomfort of this disorder. It's high time to go over some of the techniques doctors and other health specialists that can give you as well as some of the common everyday things you can do to make your life a lot easier. Try to know the common medications used in treating fibromyalgia, also the alternative treatments, and develop good health practices for everyday.
