Is Cymbalta supposed to increase fibromyalgia pain?

My doctor assigned me Cymbalta to help with the pain in my joints and back,. After taking one pill I woke up the next day with horrible swelling in my hands and feet and twice as much pain as before. I tried the pills a couple more times over the following month, always with the same effects. When I told my doctor about my symptoms she said the immediate increase in pain and intense swelling meant the drug was working. I'm very confused to say the least, I thought the drug is supposed to help the pain, not double it., .

1. NO WAY...

there may be side effects--BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THE PILL IS WORKING--it just means you are having side effects...

and there is no swelling in FMS

your doc obviously is not competent to diagnose and treat fms..

fms is HIGHLY overdiagnosed by idiot docs like this--most people actually have something else----
