What medication could I be prescribed/recommended for chronic knee pain? (ligaments and arthritis)?
Had surgery twice, and get a bit of pain in that knee.
however, the other knee got mashed from the year of crutches, and now it gets a lot of pain, hard to walk on a lot.
Just wondering what medication I can get?
I'm only 16, so in 5 years my knees will be GONE.

1. Over the counter pain meds (Tylenol/Ibuprofen/Motrin/Aleve). Understand the risks of taking any medicines by talking to the pharmacist before purchasing.
Consult your doctor if these do not work for you or if you have other conditions that may cause problems.
2. Over the counter medication is probably the easiest, so things like Ibuprofen and Panadol (I see you're an Australian =])
If you can get in to see your doctor they can prescribed stronger medications like Diclofenac (it's like ibuprofen, but stronger), Codeine and Tramadol.
If you do have arthritis they may suggest a steroid injection into the joint.
These medications all have their side effects, so you should discuss this with your doctor.
Alternating between ice and heat can be helpful.
