Fibromyalgia pain and nausea...?
I have fibromyalgia, and all of my severe pain is in my back. When I wake up, my back just kills me and I don't even want to move. Sometimes (more recently in the past few weeks) I feel sick to my stomach in the morning, and sometimes at night. It always seems like I feel nauseous when my pain is moderate to severe. I've looked at all the symptoms on websites like WebMD, Mayo Clinic, etc. and none of them listed nausea. Do you think that I may be feeling sick because of my pain? I don't know what else it could be. I'm definitely not pregnant, I don't have a stomach bug or anything like that. Thanks to anyone who can give me any kind of answer!

1. Digestive disturbances, abdominal pain, and bloating are quite common in FMS
Nausea is particularly apparent when symptoms are bad. Many people in pain feel nauseous, either because of the pain or because of the analgesics they hav to take. Also feeling (understandably) stressed can make people feel nausea.
Note the reference to IBS in the link. One of the symptoms is nausea.
I am sorry, FMS is a tough thing to have to deal with
2. what area of your back is the pain in? are you sure its not your gall bladder (upper back pain) or kidneys?
if this is such a severe problem in the morning, are you sure your mattress is okay and its not the way you are sleeping?
FMS is generally wide spread areas of severe pain....while one are can be the worst--you do need to have the pain elsewhere at times..
fms is highly overdiagnosed, most people actually have something else.
as far as the nausea--i get it from sinus problems...the more tired I am the worse it is...the morning is the worst when I wake up--especially if I didn't get enough sleep...
the only thing I found that helps is Luden's pectin throat drops--i think they come in wild cherry, berry, and orange vitamin C....NOT MENTHOL..but pectin...
you can also--check with an ENT or allergist to see if they can treat the cause
