Can to much ab exercises lead to lower back pain?
I've been doing a lot of ab exercises lately at the gym, and now I've got some killer lower back pain. Could to much ab exercise and not enough back exercise be the cause? I feel like a 90 yr old man right now squirming in my chair because it hurts.

1. Absolutely. In fact, especially with sit ups, you have to be extremely careful. Sit ups can be VERY dangerous for your lower back. Maybe talk to someone at the gym about spotting your ab workout to be sure you're doing them correctly to avoid injury, or to have them advise on more effective exercises that will be less strenuous.
2. I suffer from lower back pain as well but its due to tight hamstrings. You have to really stretch your hamstings out before any excersize. But your transverse abdominus muscle( below belly button) is connected to your lower back so that could also be the cause.
