Extreme pain in the right side of my lower back, what could be the cause?
All day I have had an extremely intense pain in my lower right side of my back. I have 800mg Ibuprofen I have taken throughout the day, but the pain only goes away for a good two hours. Now it is so intense that it is comparable to being kicked in the groin. The pain isn't really throbbing. It is just constant and gradually gets worse.
Any ideas on what this could be?

1. go see a doctor... Could be a kidney or apendix
2. If it is in the lower back, it could be a pinched nerve or a pulled muscle. Either way if the pain persists, then go see your doctor or an orthopedic spine specialist so that they can take x-rays and give you meds that might help you better than ibuprofen. If that doesn't work, then they'll probably want to do an MRI and you just go from there on what they recommend.
3. It could be kidney pain, intestinal problems or muscle/bone pain, check out the list of causes in the link below and get some x rays/ ultrasound tests done.
4. Lie on your back with legs straight and arms outstretched in a T.
Slowly bend your left leg and drag the left foot along the floor until it rests next to your right knee.
Inhale and allow your left knee to fall across your body to the right.
With each exhale, let gravity pull your left knee closer to the floor.
Hold for 4-6 more breaths.
Return to the starting position, then repeat with the right leg bent.
