Why is it called a "headache rack"?

I'm looking for a truck rack (behind the cab) but can't figure out why they're called Headache Racks. Any ideas why they're called this?

1. ive heard that it comes from loading/unloading things into the truck and smashing your head, resulting in a headache

2. Flatbed truckdrivers have them behind the cab and use it to store their chains and binders. With all that noise from the chains beating on the rack it gives u a headache, thus headache rack.

3. Their original purpose was to prevent cargo from entering the cab and causing injuries; most likely head injuries.

Therefore they prevent "headaches".

4. i think maybe someone hit their head on 1 and got a headache from it, so they started to call the headache racks.
