Headache in back of head, hurts a lot when I shake my head side to side.?
I have had this weird headache for about 3 days, and its weird because you can't really feel it when you dont move and stay still, but if you jerk you head side to side, then a sharp throbbing pain comes in the back of my head. I have never experienced this type of headache before, but I do regularily get migraines. Can someone please help me. Thanks

1. Headaches are caused by tight neck muscles in the neck. The muscles go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles that go around the head. When the neck muscles are tight they pull the head muscles into pain and that's your headache. The pains in the back of your head are right off the muscles themselves and when you aren't moving you aren't putting the pressure on the muscles to cause pains which happens when you move you head. To get rid of the pain you have to free up your neck muscles to get the pressure off the muscles in the neck and here's how to free them up:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. After about 30 to 45 seconds, when you don’t feel the muscles releasing any longer, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds. This should help with the migraines as well.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
