Has Lyrica worked for your Fibromyalgia?

Just given this RX, and it doesn't seem to work for other people, so I've read. I'm used to Vicodin, and I'm worried this won't be enough.

1. how about a different approach, correcting the actual cause? see an hio method upper cervical specific chiropractor and get the nerve interference to your thyroid actually corrected.

2. a lot of people claimed it worked...many of those had bad side affects and couldn't tolerate it

problem is most people diagnosed with FMS actually have something else---so we can't really know if it helps or not---you just have to try it for yourself

the actual cause is not a cervical issue...that can imitate FMS but is not real FMS

3. I took Lyrica for two year and it did help for a little while. It didn't make the pain and symptoms completely go away but it did help things to be more managable. It does cause drowsiness so you should be very careful when you first start taking it until your body becomes adjusted. It definately does not work like vicodin. The only other suggestion is to ask for Cymbalta along with the Lyrica and that should give you a bit more control of the symptoms. I also have taken 800mg of Ibuprophen along with my other medications. If you find that you still need more pain releif you can ask for Tramadol, which is not in the class of drug as Vicodin and your doctor may agree to give you that over the vicodin. I have been fighting the battle of Fibromyalgia, along with other diseases for over 10 year and I have never found anything that completely controls the pain. It has just been a battle to manage the symptoms. I hope one or any of these suggestions help you. I understand your pain and frustrations.
