Best ways to manage chronic knee pain?

Public Comments

1. a) See the doctor
b) Try a Tens machine
c) See the doctor (yes I know I said it twice, that's because I mean it!)

2. get some pain killers from your doctor

try holding a hot water bottle on your knee then holding frozen peas instead.

best bet is going to the doctors tho!

3. sing this jolly jingle and all will be well!

Up to mighty London came
An Irish lad one day,
All the streets were paved with gold,
So everyone was gay!
Singing songs of Piccadilly,
Strand, and Leicester Square,
'Til Paddy got excited and
He shouted to them there:

It's a long way to Tipperary,
It's a long way to go.
It's a long way to Tipperary
To the sweetest girl I know!
Goodbye Piccadilly,
Farewell Leicester Square!
It's a long long way to Tipperary,
But my heart's right there.

Paddy wrote a letter
To his Irish Molly O',
Saying, "Should you not receive it,
Write and let me know!
If I make mistakes in "spelling",
Molly dear", said he,
"Remember it's the pen, that's bad,
Don't lay the blame on me".

It's a long way to Tipperary,
It's a long way to go.
It's a long way to Tipperary
To the sweetest girl I know!
Goodbye Piccadilly,
Farewell Leicester Square,
It's a long long way to Tipperary,
But my heart's right there.

Molly wrote a neat reply
To Irish Paddy O',
Saying, "Mike Maloney wants
To marry me, and so
Leave the Strand and Piccadilly,
Or you'll be to blame,
For love has fairly drove me silly,
Hoping you're the same!"

It's a long way to Tipperary,
It's a long way to go.
It's a long way to Tipperary
To the sweetest girl I know!
Goodbye Piccadilly,
Farewell Leicester Square,
It's a long long way to Tipperary,
But my heart's right there.

5. Most knee pains are caused by the tendon for the muscle of the kneecap tightening up pulling the kneecap up on and into the knee making it hard and painful to bend and/or straighten the knee. This tendon can be released to remove the pain but is quite difficult to do and normally I would say to have someone who knows how to do the releasing for you but that may be hard to find so here's what they would do to release it:
Kneecaps:
Do while sitting on a chair with no front cross braces between the legs.
While sitting have your leg resting in a stretched position. Place both your thumbs, side by side, about 2 inches behind the kneecap and press down into your leg hard and then redirect the pressure a little towards the kneecap. After one minute slowly slide your foot back and under your chair as far as it will go, release the pressure but hold your foot there for another 30 seconds.
The important part of this is the pressure on the leg, if there isn't enough this won't take. If that happens try it again right away.

6. If it is OA and one wants to avoid surgery then for good quality life and reduction of analgesic intake, Saphenous nerve block under USG guidance or Intraarticular injections or pulsed RF are options.
