Has anyone taken Cymbalta and does it really help fibromyalgia pain?

Public Comments

1. the problem is that FMS is highly overdiagnosed by idiot docs who use it as a general label for pain...so its hard to tell of the people using it really have FMS...and i've seen it advertised for another type of pain recently....

some people could be experiencing the placebo effect and just be thinking their 'pain' away--those people don't really have fms and probably aren't sick at all--just whiners....

Its just another SSRI...like Savella...but Savella has less side effects...i've tried various SSRI and similar meds ---and didn't have any relief..

i've researched extensively and met and worked with 2 top respected researchers to be sure I most likely have it...no one can be 100% sure yet as there isn't a good test.

2. Well, I haven't tried Cymbalta, but as far as I know, that's an anti depressive med, not a pain med. I'm on Tramadol, and so far it has great for my fibromyalgia symptoms. I was diagnosed in 2004 with FMS. Began taking Tramadol in 2005, 4 times daily. After beginning B Complex, I reduced my dosage to 1/2 tablet twice daily. Have been taking this dosage for 6 years with great results. Sometimes I have to increase the dosage. Works within 15 mins and stops all the aching muscle pains. Have never had any side effects from it. Everyone's different though. However, I'd highly recommend it with vitamin therapy. I get it online at http://www.onlinepharmax.com , since going to the doctor represents a few hours of my day just to get a prescription, plus is a lot cheaper this way. Anyways, tell your relative to talk to his/her doctor about this medicine. For me it has been a life saver. Good luck!
