Are you interested in a Fibromyalgia Support Group on Facebook?

I'm 23 and I have fibromyalgia. I've had it for almost a year and a half. I recently have been interested in joining a support group, to find community with others who also share my struggles, but a lot of places I look I only find people my parents age. I don't mind advice from those older than I, but I definitely think it's better to know people in my age rage/ area in life that I can relate to first. I know one girl around my age who has it and also is living with RA (rheumatoid arthritis). Anyways I started this group on Facebook called, " We're All In This Together." It's completely open to any young men or women living with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, RA, or anything closely related. Please fill free to join. :)

1. There are already heaps of Facebook groups for Fibromyalgia and similar conditions.

These two are the best-

I'll have a look for your page though.

2. No, because most people diagnosed with FMS actually have something else and refuse to listen to reason once the real condition is identified. Doctors use FMS as a general label for pain, not a specific condition. They will say the pain of arthritis is FMS or the pain from a slipped disk is FMS---that is completely wrong....

I'm sick of hearing people who clearly have something other than FMS insist that know what its like to have FMS.

Both online and in person---Many people I have heard from were falsely diagnosed with FMS...and many others are questionable..

especially when they start talking about things like treating the inflammation or autoimmune issues...there is no inflammation and it is not believed to be autoimmune...and a lot of other misinformation....

and I personally know 2 people that aren't even sick at all..one is a hypochondriac who gets anything she hears about..and drones on and on about it..and the other was fraudulently applying for disability--as she did with her kids......
