Alternatives to painkillers for headache relief?
My boyfriend gets headaches almost every day and he hates taking medication. He'll take 3 Ibuprofen but that's as much as he'll do. I want to help make him feel better and have suggested a soothing lavender pillow over his eyes but don't know where to find one. Anyone have any suggestions?

1. Did he do a lot of ecstasy? Because I did and get headaches every single day.

3. Use Axe oil it is oil that contains eucalyptus, camphor, menthol apply to forehead . it is available in chinese stores.
4. That sounds serious to have one every day~
Boswelia and curcumin helps with pain
5. You can just take a warm wash cloth and add a few drops of Essential OIl-Lavender, or Chamomile will soothe. Although, I would also suggest trying a homeopathic natural medicine. Most of them come in a spray you can just spray under the tongue and it enters the blood stream that way. Results are almost instant. Heres a link below to check out some options, also there is a long list of Essential oils and their uses which may be helpful. Good luck
6. My advise is take him to Qualified Reflexologist and also Homeopathy Dr. both works well. I my self qualified Reflexologist Good Luck if you need to know get back to yahoo questions.
7. If he is getting frequent Headaches, you need to find the cause before the solution. He may be suffering from eye-strain(needs glasses) or he may have something more serious going on.
For a non-medical option I would suggest giving him a good head and neck massage, even rubbing lightly on his face(sinus area).
An Ice Pack on his Neck might bring some relief and below is a link to where you can get the Lavender Pillow.
Even though he hates taking them he might want to take 2 Ibuprofen and 2 tylenol(same time) every 4-6 hours ONLY when his headache is really bad. Doctors recommend this "cocktail" since one reduces swelling/stiffness and the other takes care of the pain.
Best of Luck to him

10. Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

12. I usually just soak my hands in hot water (as hot as I can stand it) for about 20-30 minutes and by the time the water starts to get cold, my head ache is gone.
I suffer from occasional migranes, and this is what works for me.
