What is the best way to reduce knee pain?
In January I sprained my knee and now whenever I run I have knee pain. I wear a simple knee brace for stability, but it still hurts. I always try to stretch before and after I run and I usually run 2-5 miles. Unfortunately there aren't any running trails near my house so I run mostly on concrete. Thanks!

1. I'm currently having chronic knee probs now so I know how you feel. I discourage knee braces, because they are basically doing the work for you. There doing the ewotk your knee should be doing, it's like using a crutch. So I wouldnt use those, however you could use a slip on knee support, one without any hard sides just a plain, soft slip on knee support. And since it hurts when you run, it might have already developed in your tendons and muscles. So whatever you do, keep stretching it. Your doing a thing, stretching before running. Do some simple lifting your knee when lying down, this should reduce a lot of the pain. And take ibuprofen to reduce swelling, and inflammation this will also help the pain. And right after your run, apply an ice pak on your knee for maybe 5 minutes, but make sure it's covered or put a towel on your knee then the ice pak, this will also reduce swelling and soreness. If it still continues to hurt, or the pain worsens, please see a doctor you don't wanna having chronic knee probs like me. Hope I helped, and good luck
