Does anyone know any ways to deal with fibromyalgia WITHOUT medication?
I've heard about doing yoga and such to help with fibromyalgia, but I was wondering does anyone have any personal ideas that they have tried to ease the symptoms of fibromyalgia?

1. Massage, yoga, stretching, soaking in an Epsom salt bath.
2. educating myself--understanding reduces the stress..
most docs are clueless about fms and use it as a general label for pain=--mostpeople diagnosed with FMS actually have something else
3. Knowing as much as possible about Fibromyalgia and how it affects me, and what things that can cause a flare up, such as stress, poor sleep, flues & viruses, extremes of temperature to hot or to cold and keep my fluids up (dehydration) etc.
Doing graded exercise, swimming, water aerobics, walking, Tai chi and yoga are all good exercise for fibro & CFS sufferers. I have just started a graded exercise program with a physio, and also thinking of taking on some Tai chi, I also "try" to do some walking with my hubby, but my legs & feet often hurt, which causes problems with walking and balance, I don't like to use my walking stick, but sadly its becoming to a point I must use it whether I want to or not :(
If my daughter was closer I would get a lot of massages as I find this does help, my daughter is very light handed, and has passed relaxation massages, if I can afford it I go to a friend who is a qualified masseur.
I also use heat pack for pain, and if I can a bath, but I need my hubby to help me out, and I am also on slow release pain meds, Neurotin and Endep, for major pain then I take another prescription pain med & sleeping tablet.
4. Find a chiropractic/functional neurologist near you, they'll get rid of the fibromyalgia so you can do yoga or anything else you want. Check out acnb.org or lifechangingcare.com to find someone near you. I'm in Harrisburg, PA and see fibromyalgia symptoms disappear every week. Take care.
