Headache In Back Of The Head?

I sometimes get headaches and whenever I do they are in the back of my head. The pain is not debilitating. It's not by any means severe. But I am interested in what is causing the headaches to always be in the back of my head.
Is this something to worry about? i.e. Tumor? I don't think it is but I'm scared.

1. I get the same thing and it is from pain in the first few cervical vertebrae in my neck. I relieve the pain by laying flat on the floor with a rolled up towel under between where my head and neck meet. I will also put an ice pack on top of the towel and rest the back of my head on it to relieve inflammation.

I'll also use the towel behind my head when I sit on the couch to help support my neck and to help space those vertebrae a little bit. It really helps.

2. This may be a long shot, but my boyfriend had a similar issue. The only difference is he could feel an external 'hard spot' at the base of his skull. He said that it was consistently the worst pain he had ever felt, almost like the pressure was going to make his eyes pop. He was really afraid it was going to be serious, but it turns out the doctor told him it was a sagacious (sorry if I spelled that wrong) cyst. They are actually quite common and easily treated. In fact, they told him his could be drained right there in the clinic. His was especially large, but I guess at times they can smaller and nearly undetectable, although they can still cause the annoyance and the headaches.
