Slight pain in back of eyes and head?

Hi,

Two weeks ago I started having pains in the back of my eyes and following that I also started getting pains around the back of my head and other parts of my head.

It does not feel like a headache as the pains and sudden and gone within a few seconds, but I'm becoming concerned with it as it's lasted for two weeks now.

Any ideas what this is?

I have glasses and have been told by friends it could be related to my eyes and might need to have an eye check for possible lens changes, but your thoughts?

Many thanks.

1. Eyestrain or sinus pressure.

2. Could be eyestrain, stress or lack of sleep. You should get it checked out...

3. It's worth seeing your optician first. Our eyes change shape with changes in our lifestyle and it could be that your prescription has changed.

If he/she says everything is groovy, it may be worth seeing an osteopath. If you've recently changed car/job/bed/shoes/anything then your posture and the way you use your body will have changed (too much time at the PC can be a cause!).

Our bodies are designed to adapt to new stimuli in our lives, but need time and sometimes assistance to change. As an osteopath I treat symptoms like yours on a weekly basis with some great results.

They're called cervicogenic headches which basically means your neck is involved, and may be easily fixed.

Good luck!

4. |Hey there,
Sorry about your sore head and eyes. It must be a real bummer.
I know that this pain could very well be related to eye strain or tension but you can never be too careful. I know that when I had severe headaches like the ones you are describing my GP sent me to the optometrist for an eye check but also so that they could look and see if there are any tumours obstructing the back of the eye area. It is really worth a check up.
Hope it goes well and that it is nothing. Keep well and stress free.

5. Hi there,
I think your problem is related to eye strain, this could be muscles in the orbital area or around the jaw if you tend to clench your jaw very tightly. It could also be related to toothache as the nerves around the face tend to be very closely connected and you can get referred pain.
Either way you should get your eyes checked.

6. go to the optitians for an eye test check your diet which foods may be causing the problem and go to the doctors to be safe
