what are the symptoms of fibromyalgia?

i think i have it but would like to get a little more insight on it from people who actually have it

Public Comments

1. butt tremors and malformed stools are consistent symptoms (or so i hear)

2. severe muscle aches all over the body which cannot be explained, depression, lethargy

3. you and everybody's brother thinks they have it nowadays

REAL fms is a specific neuro condition..the primary symptoms are pain and fatigue. There tends to be sleep issues, cognitive issues and many more issues..

the symptoms of FMS mimic many things such as a vitamin or hormone problem, lymes, MS, arthritis, and many more conditions

most people diagnosed with fms really have something else

while supposedly many people with FMs are depressed--the info is not accurate--as many of those people only have depression, not fms

4. Bianca, many people start out differently. Usually, there is a trigger such as some type of trauma to the body, whether it's an accident, a severe infection, surgery, or even an emotional trauma.
I'm going to give you several websites that have lots of info on fibro. If you think you may have it, make an appointment with a rheumatologist or neurologist. There are several conditions that have overlapping symptoms and I'm sure you want to know exactly what is going on so you can get the proper treatment.

I wish you the best. Remember to be patient during the diagnosing stage. Once you have a definite diagnosis whether it's fibro or something else, join a support group in your area or a yahoo group. It's helpful to talk to others if/ when you have a chronic condition. Not all of them are pity parties. You can learn so much from others who have had it a long time! Take care!
