What happens to your brain during a headache?

You know how when you're extremely tired, you get headaches. And every now and then, you feel little tingling and cool spots in certain areas. I wonder what that means. Are my neurons dying? Any thoughts or anyone knows what goes on in your brain during a headache?

1. Depends on what is causing the headache.
1] Some headaches causes will not cause any permanent damage, such as dehydration, hypoglycemia, fatigue, teasion, will be 'cured' by treating the prob - water, food, sleep, etc.
2] others such as sinus infection, 'simple' migraine can be treated by medication
3] headaches caused by increased intracranial pressure - hydrocephalus, hemorrhage in brain - must get emergency surgery
4] only the causes in number three, as well as any infection or growth [ cancerous or not ] can cause permanent damage
