What are symptoms of a tension headache?

I have been getting headaches for the past 2 days off an on. I have pressure in my neck and knots in my upper neck. It feels like a brain freeze its like that ache but stays with me, but not as severe as a brain freeze. I will get it on my right side, or my left and it will progress to the front of my head, it gets worse when i lay down because i can dwell on it. Let me know.

2. well you just described a tension headache.
Sounds like you need some muscle relaxers, or Valium to relieve your stress.
over the counter stuff won't work, you'll need a prescription.

3. That sounds to me like you are getting tension headaches.

It's probably time to consult your doctor, but before you do, I have one suggestion to try:

- Take 1000mg of tylenol with 800mg ibuprofen, every 6 hours. You should also drink a carbonated caffeinated beverage with the pills, like a Coke. The caffeine helps "fix" your veins to stop the headache and the carbonation helps the pills get absorbed faster.

If that does not work, call your doctor and ask for Midrin. It's used mainly for migraines but also helps with my tension and sinus headaches.
