I am taking Cymbalta for depression and Fibromyalgia?

But it's not helping the depression...It seems to help the fibro. Is there a higher dosage or an additional medication that can supplement it?
Sorry I did not mention that I am ALSO taking Lyrica. My Nurologist suggested the cymbalta to my PCP. So he weaned me off of Zoloft and put me on cymbalta.

1. That's a good question for your family doctor. Cymbalta is a serious medication.

2. there are a lot of different options

adjuncts like abilify

other types like trycyclic (amitryptyline)

Wellbutrin

there are claims that cymbalta is good for FMs, but it causes weight gain and then more problems

Lyrica is not a miracle drug for FMS, although SOME people claim success...

but since docs label anyone with any ache or pain with FMS, its hard to know if those people really had fms to begin with

cymbalta is just another SNRI....like some other SNRIs that may or may not be better

3. Cymbalta has been show to be one of the least effective antidepressants ever created. It has been heavily marketed for depression and fibromyalgia. It's lousy at treating either. There is a miracle drug out there, though: Lyrica. I'd suggest asking for a more conventional antidepressant like Prozac, Paxil, or Zoloft, and ask for Lyrica. Lyrica is a wonder drug. It made me feel physically and mentally better.
