Does smoking marijuana benefit cluster migraine headache sufferers?

I do believe that marijuana has great medicinal value in our society, but the corporate big shots, the mult billion dollar pharmaceautical companies and big government will NEVER allow it to be legalized because they will lose BILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year almost overnight. I was just wondering if smoking it can help relieve me of my migraine pains. Sometimes the drugs that the doctor perscribes are more expensive and can even cause more severe damage to your body than smoking something that is totally natural and from the earth. What do you think?

1. Yes it does, I used to smoke pot when i had a headache and it would go away. I even have a friend who had a severe case of chronic migraines and had to buy expensive tablets to reduces the effects but stopped until he started smoking pot. I don't think he ever takes tablets at home anymore.

but you need the tablets in order to be more productive especially in every day situations, you cant be high all the time.

2. marijuana is used in medical states and countries as a perscription against migranes and yes including cluster migranes and causes no brain damege so it has 0 chance of making them worse... so yes its beneficial

3. I can see how weed would help.. since it relaxes you and actually a large number of the migraine/headache prescription drugs include a component to relax the individual. When you're relaxed you can tolerate the pain more. As for pain relief drugs that work similar to weed, the best I've found that have the "relaxing" affect is Epidrin/Midrin it works great (http://www.midrin.org for more, can also order online)

4. Cluster headaches are different from typical migraines, and generally not helped by pot smoking. I do know a number of classic migraine sufferers who swear by their smoke to get them through.
If you have true cluster headaches - do some research into psilocybin. It's capable of breaking the cycle of these headaches, but hasn't proved as useful in more common migraines.
