What to get as first truck add-on?
So I just got a used truck. It has no bed mat, toolbox, headache rack, or brush guard. What would you suggest as the first thing for me to get and why? Thanks!

1. mud flaps and good floor mats. Protect it first and then dress it up.
Then its toolbox and bed mat if you need them to put things in it or headache rack or brush guard if you want to make it look better to show it off.
2. A sturdy brush guard and bed liner is really all you need as far as protection goes. A brush guard can do a lot for you if you hit something head on and unless you dont care about scratching the bed or its already scratched up then I would also get a bedliner. You could get a toolbox but it takes up valuable bed space and you already have lockable storage behind the seat.
I would start with a tune up. Replace the spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, engine oil and filter, transmission fluid and filter, and differential oil. If it has coil packs, replace them. If it has a distributor, replace the cap and rotor. If it has a carburettor, have it adjusted by a professional. If it has fuel injection, run some name brand injector cleaner through the engine. Fix any oil leaks such as valve covers or the oil pan.
The tune up will be significantly cheaper if you do it yourself, but dont get into anything youre not sure you can finish. Get a repair manual at your local auto parts store and it will walk you through everything.
After the tune up you can add a cold air intake, exhaust, and tuning chip for more power.
3. Spray-on bedliners have become the most popular choice for those looking for truck bed protection. The high quality results from a professional application makes spray-on bedliners far more appealing than the alternatives, especially a scratched paint job.
There are many reasons why spray-on bedliners have become some popular with pick-up truck owners:
•It's a permanent application that custom fits every truck
•It looks good
•Easy to clean
•Various color options
•Spray-on bedliners can get as thick as ¼” which provides ultimate truck bed protection
•Various options available: Some spray-on bedliners offer a rubbery, non-slip textured surface that grips your cargo and holds it in place, while other spray-on bedliners have a smoother, harder surface which allows you to easily load and unload your cargo. The choice on which type of spray-on bedliner to have is entirely yours and should be based on how you will be using your pick-up truck.
