What's the best treatment for costochondritis?

I have quite severe fibromyalgia and this is one of the more painful symptoms.

Every single rib hurts and I can't bear to be touched. I've been trying hot baths but it only helps ease the pain a little for a short time.

I'm also taking 15mg Meloxicam daily. Is there something else I can try?

2. Hi Munkee,

I suffer severe fm myself so I can only sympathise with you. Have you tried Deep Freeze gel? It is just like the Deep Heat one, but becomes cooling instead of warming. I find it works better when there is pain associated with heat - it's not perfect, but it can sometimes just takes the pain level down a notch or two.
You can purchase it from chemists/supermarkets etc or your doctor can prescribe it.

I hope you get some relief soon, sending gentle butterfly hugs from one sufferer to another :)
