Almost any over the counter medicine can be dangerous if you overdose. For example an acetaminophen overdose can lead to life-threatening liver damage.

I can not really advise you about the difference between a slight overdose and a dangerous overdose. I understand with Acetaminophen it's important to be careful, especially with children and infants.
