Would a knee injury cause pain else where in your leg?
I fell down the stairs over 2 months ago and I hit my knee square into the corner of the wall. Obviously my knee hurts, but I also feel pain along the left side of my shin and the right side of my thigh. Most of the pain is my knee. Could the damage that's done in my knee be affecting the other parts of my leg?
I go to my orthopedist on Monday.

1. Yes, you hit your knee but you also jammed your lower back which is giving you most of the other pains. When the muscles in your lower back are tight they can press into the nerves going to the hips and legs which will cause pains in them. To get rid of the pains you have to free up your back muscles and here's how to free them up:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
2. Definitely. Possibly there could be nerve damage, which may cause the pain to radiate.
3. Sometimes what can happen is you can get deferred pain. If there was any damage done to the nerves in your knee as well, the impulses to your brain could be making you feel the pain elsewhere in your leg. I learned this from the website below.
