1. Dehydration.2. it dehydrates your body and your brain which makes it shrink a tiny bit makin it hurt :-( so drinkin is very bad
3. both dehydration as well as the fact that alcoholic drinks are not 100% alcohol, they contain many toxins that enter your blood system and give you these bad side affects, the clearer the drink the less the headache or after effect as it has been filtered and therefore lost much of its secondary toxins, if you drink nothing but stout or real ale then your really gonna feel bad in the morning, but a few vodka drinks and you in theory should be 'OK'
4. Mooowl is correct, most hangovers are actually caused by the toxins in what you are drinking. I looked into this and discovered the more natural alcohol you drink the better you feel the next day, I now drink vodka lime and soda which is refreshing and low calorie so ideal for those who have put on a few extra pounds over christmas. I always feel fine after drinking it too which is a bonus!!
