Why do i get a headache from drinking wine?

I get headaches after drinking 1 glass of wine. I have the same problem w/ alcohol but bigger headache from drinking red wine.

Will one glass a day help me build the tolerance and will the headache go away over time? Or once i have it, it'll always be there when i drink wine?

1. it depends on the wine you had some wines haves different amounts of alcohol, some wines that are aged also may give headaches.

i hope i helped

2. idk

3. If you are drinking store bought wine the culprit is probably the bisulfites used as a preservative. I gave up wine because of the bad headaches - until I found a friend who makes wine at home. He uses no sulfites and, while I still get an occasional headache (likely because he ferments his wine to nearly 18% alcohol content - store bought is usually around 10-12%), they are nowhere near as bad. Usually a couple of glasses of water and an aspirin, right after drinking, totally eliminate them. Depending on the Dr. you talk to, a little wine every day is good for the circulation - at least.

4. The causes are not completely known. Some say it's the sulfite's even though white wine typically has more. It could also be cause by an allergy to sulfites.

5. It may depend on the type or brand of wine. I have a similar problem with some beers, particularly Bud products. Try an aspirin before drinking. Also try drinking a couple of glasses of water beforehand. Also, are you drinking on an empty stomach? Drinking wine with a meal may bother you less.

6. you will get a headache from drinking any kind of alcohol. the alcohol dehydrates you causing the headaches.

7. You should not get a headache from drinking wine...... unless you had like 4 bottles.... but even from 1 bottle you should not get a headache

Either the wine type does not suite you, so change wine, or you body does not like wine so stop drinking it
