1. Fibromyalgia is a chronic painful musculoskeletal syndrome of unknown aetiology, characterised by generalised pains in the connective tissues of the body and specific area of knotted muscle fibre - called "trigger points" - which are especially painful. It is generally treated with a combination of analgesics and vigorous massage.

In my opinion, i think eating medications is not the best , i recommend you ust natural therapy, such as cupping ,massage ,acupuncture .

2. lunesta, ambien are okay for SHORT TERM...they will quit working eventually..even after a few months

benzos are dangerous if taken long term

a good option is TRAZODONE..its an antidepressant that works as a sleep aid...1x/night instead of 3x a day..dose can be 25-100mg+

btw FMS has tenderpoints, not triggerpoints..a lot of sites/people get that wrong..they are different things

3. Hypnosis is the best approach

4. Oh lordy, everybody has the answer for Fibro don't they.
There are a ton of things to try, just start with your doc and keep trying until you get one you like.
We are all so different But:
Melatonin and tryptophan are standards for us. As well as stronger ones or old-style anti-depressants like the old Seroquel will knock you right out. I was given that after a 3-day bout of insomnia.
Please read the book "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia" by Dr. R. Paul St. Amand and Claudia Mareck. It will change your life.

I help people sick with Fibro and help them through the protocol
I am "Deb Fibrogirl" on Facebook.
You can get the book super cheap on Ebay. They are a 501(c)3 charity group that has developed this treatment over the past 40 years. But you have to be very sick and really really want to get better. Dr. Amand is an endocrinologist who has Fibro as does his wife. He has been in now 84 and has been in remission for about 40 years now. As are his first patients.
It is very hard and many people quit as soon as it gets tough, so a lot of people say that it doesn't work. It does work if you follow the directions in the book to the letter and in 4 months you will begin to have good days, then weeks, then remission. It's a dirt cheap med and there are so many thousands of us out there who have found the protocol and live by it and it saved our lives.
