Large breasts causing back pain - exercises help?
I'm the mother of a new baby daughter. I've been breastfeeding her as normal. However, she's been weaned for the last 3 months, and my breasts still haven't gone back to their normal size. I don't know why this has happened this time. She's not my first child, and my breasts went back to normal before.
The problem is that the back pain is getting too bad to bear - the ache is almost constant. I've gone up 3 whole bra sizes, but I don't want to have to have a breast reduction except as a last resort (scared of surgery).
What are some good, reliable exercises for controlling back pain caused by large breasts? All the ones I've tried so far haven't really worked. :(
Serious answers pleeeease.

3. we talking about boobies? just my topic...
4. Try a back brace, something to put pressure on your lumbar spine.
And I agree, not to do surgery. Eventually, they should return to normal once your milk ducts dry up.
Also:
This is a little "pervy", I am a guy of course.. but you could put your husband to work on some good lower back massage.. After all, he is benefiting from your breasts too I imagine!
Finally,
Try some yoga poses for lower back strength..

Also, don't forget the opposing tummy muscles.. Good overall lower abdominal tone will help a lot too.
Hope this helps.. as opposed to the idiots that are trolling around here..

7. P: Massage
8. I dont know about excersises but try a heat pad?
Hopefully you dont have to get breast reduction, I'm only 16 and I may have to because my back hurts a lot also from it. I'm scared, too.
9. Try using those back braces. but you should go see a doctor.
10. a weak stomach can cause back pain. strenghten your core. you need muscles in your torso to help you with your posture and back pain
11. You need to be fitted for a really good bra that will hold them in place without moving. Try a higher end department store, Victoria's Secret, places like that that will help you in measuring and finding your perfect size. I read that your breast should sit comfortable in between your elbow and your shoulder. Make sure that you are not using the loosest or the tightest clasps on your bra as well. It should be comfortable on the middle clasps. Hope that helps!
12. Pretty much any exercise that emphasizes the back muscles. Like flyes. Take two dumbells and bend over. Then just fly them back. Start with weights you can handle.
Try the ones from this site:

13. Ask a physical therapist, That would be the best person to ask. If you go through your doctor, it's usually covered by your insurance. I had to go because of chronic pain and stiffness, and it really helped
14. I'm in to bodybuilding and I am thinking of exercises which may help you strengthen the muscles which would help support your larger breasts, giving you less back pain. The drawback is that when you do exercise the muscles will be a bit sore for the first few times for a couple of days so you just need to stick with it.
Deadlifts
Upright cable row or bent over row
Shrugs
Hyperextensions
Side Bends
Crunches (do as many as you can per set, for 3 sets)
Do 3 sets of 10 reps, add weight as you feel comfortable, but remember, you should be struggling to finish the last rep of every set. I would first start out doing 2 sets of each exercise and work my way up to 3 sets of each exercise after a couple of weeks. Only do these exercises once a week.
Exercise routines which are catering for women or large breasts typically are designed by people who dont really know what theyre talking about when it comes to exercise, as anyone worth their salt knows that the same exercises and routines for bodybuilding, powerlifting, etc are all the best exercises regardless of what your goal is. Remember, you are not a man, nor are you taking steroids, so you will not get muscly. You will however, become a bit more toned which should increase your confidence. Face the fact that there isnt an easier approach. You will find people giving you advice which is easier and requires less effort. Dont take this advice. Youll simply be fooled into thinking that you will be helping yourself when you will just be wasting time.
Once you get to a point where your back isnt hurting so much, keep going and keep it difficult. You train past the point you need to so when you stop, your back wont revert back to the point where it was still painful. You also may want to consider doing fat burn exercise on a crosstrainer, 30-45 minutes 2-3 times a week at 65% of your max heart rate for your age, sex and weight. This will cut down your bodyfat which will help you lose the babyweight, but also decrease the size of your stomach and breasts as more fat is stored on the front of the body than the back, which will help shift your centre of gravity backwards, helping stop the stress on your back. I really hope you take all the advice I have given as I am certain it will help if you follow it well.
