People with fibromyalgia: What symptoms do you experience?
How often, how severe, what sets if off etc.
I've never really spoken to someone else with it and I'm trying to get an idea of what's 'normal' with fibro

1. First off I would encourage you to check out this website which is for people with "invisible illnesses" including fibro. There is a lot of information and understanding there. It is www.butyoudontlooksick.com.
Now, as far as my fibro it is set off by weather changes (the change in barometric pressure), stress, trying to do too much on the days I am able to get out and about, and any kind of "bug" I pick up will be compounded by a fibro flare.
My symptoms include pain that for me is most felt across my upper back and shoulders. My skin hurts to the touch and clothing really hurts. It is called "allodynia". I also ache across my lower back and because I am prone to frequent migraines usually my fibro flare will bring a migraine with it. All of my "tender points" will be super sore and I will be super sensitive to excess noise. When flaring I try to just stay out of sight & out of mind LOL!
As I am typing this I am coming down with a cold or something and already my skin is starting to hurt. I take Neurontin (generic is gabapentin) for the nerve pain due to fibro and another condition I have and it does a decent job.
I hope I gave you enough useful information and I hope you will consider checking out the website I shared with you. I am one of the moderators and my name is Kellye should you decide to join.
