What could happen if my husband complains of knee pain while in the USAFBMT?

My husband has had one previous knee surgery, but received medical release papers to enlist. Now, at AF BT he is having constant pain and in his knees. I'm afraid that with the stress on his knees he could seriously injure himself. I would like to know if they could discharge him for talking to medical about his pain? Or what will happen if the problem persists with or without any serious further injury while he is in the AF? Could they put him on deployment restrictions? Anything?

1. It's a sad thing to say and my husband always said that a man who can't deploy has no business in the military. With it being over staffed as it is he will most likely be medicaly chaptered out. No point in dragging it out. Especially if your worried about him hurting hiomself. He will get a percentage of disability from the military if he qualifies. There kicking out profile people left and right here.

2. If he reports knee pain to the extent that he can't continue training, he'll be dropped. While he's being evaluated by AF doctors, he'll be placed in some kind of medical rehabilitation unit. The doctors can decide just to end his enlistment and send him home. If he wants to stay in the AF, he has to keep quiet.

3. Once he complains to a medic, the medic can either throw him some motrin (most likely) or recommend he be examined by a doctor. Once he is examined by a doctor, if the doctor recommends a discharge then he will be discharged with no benefits at all. He cannot be put on "deployments restrictions" as there is no such thing nor any reason to do this. An AF Airman on deployment generally does the exact same thing he does when he is not deployed. If he can't do it while deployed, then he can't do it when at his base.
