What medication works best for your fibromyalgia?

I am taking Neurontin 900mg every 8 hours but even though it is kinda working my pain is still severe and I dont know what else to do. I have a appt tomorrow and I was just looking for something else to try, maybe mix with the Neurontin. Thanks

1. Nothing helped much..tried about everything

tramadol took the edge off muscle pain, nothing touched joint pain.

2. I don't know where you live. In the US, there are three drugs that are being used for fibro: Lyrica, Cymbalta, and Savella. There are also a lot of people on Neurontin. Because we're all different, what works for one person, may not work for the next. You would just have to try each one. There have also been some studies on LDN (low dose naltrexone), and many people are having good results. I'm actually going to talk to my doctor about trying it. You can google LDN for fibromyalgia and read the results. It's pretty interesting.
I don't know if you take any supplements, but my rheumatologist had me get malic acid with magnesium from the health food store. I can actually tell a difference with it. It's something that will not interfere with your meds, but you would need to list them with your meds so your doctor knows you're taking them.
You may have already learned that heating pads, hot baths, massages, and water exercise also help with the pain.
There are some good yahoo groups for fibro. I participate in the fibromyalgia support group. There are people from all over the world, and we ask each other questions, and really learn from one another. This is where I learned about the LDN study. It's always nice to vent at times and laugh at times with others who understand us.
I hope something I've shared will help you. Good luck at the doctor tomorrow!
