1. maybe you were cracking your neckbones (like u crack knuckles)

2. That is exactly what Bret Michaels had, go to the doc asap.

"When a brain aneurysm ruptures, the person will develop a sudden thunder-clap headache, which is described as the worst headache of one’s life. It happens suddenly, and once that happens many people will lose consciousness. A certain percentage will not make it to the hospital alive, but for the ones who do, it’s important to secure the aneurysm so it doesn’t rebleed."

3. You had a muscle that was tight causing that pain and popping noise as the muscle tightened up to cause more pain. The light headedness and dizziness is because of those tight muscles restricting the blood flow to the brain, you are low on oxygen for that to happen. The headache is also caused by the tight muscles in your neck. To get rid of the pains you have to free up the muscles in your neck and here's how to do that:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about two minutes, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
