What could be the cause of my knee pain?
Im young and am having knee pain, and cannot recall any trauma. The knee is swelled and it sometimes creaks. I've gone to the doctor and she tested my blood for strep,lyme disease,and arthritis, all which came back negative. i just got an MRI yesterday and it also came back with nothing wrong. The pain and swelling has lasted about 6 weeks and the pain is beginning to get worse.Im going to an orthopedic specialist tomorrow.But any ideas of what could be causing my pain?

1. maybe your spending too much time on your knees.2. maybe you have a loose knee cap?...mention that to the doctor tomorrow its very common (more in girls then guys)so the doctor will know and know what to do too
3. I think you are on the right track in seeking a specialists opinion. Often, Rheumatory Diseases, like arthritis, can be quite difficult to diagnose, as there is no single test that can provide a guaranteed diagnosis. There are also a lot of other things it could be, so getting some tests is definitely a good idea.
With that said, given the symptoms you describe, it doesn't necessarily sound like arthritis, but this can not be ruled out completely.
