1. Sinus headaches usually pass within a couple of days up to a week. If it doesn't go away or lessen by then, I would see a doctor.

2. I have one too. I had a beer and I feel much better now.

3. I understand where you are coming from with this. I've had pretty severe sinus headaches too. But normally sinus headaches do in fact go away on their own, and rarely do they need to be treated.

Sinus headaches are caused by pressure and inflammation of the sinus cavities. These are areas in your skull that are actually hollow between two layers of bone. The most common areas affected with sinus pressure are: The upper cheek which is right below your eye, and above your brow.

Continue taking ibuprofen or some other pain medication that works for you. If you have allergies, that may be causing your sinus headaches. If so, clean out your house and living space. Dusting and vacuuming will rid the areas of collecting dust that may be affecting you. You may be experiencing a minor cold as well. Often times sinuses will be affected by a cold, and thus giving you a headache. Also, stay hydrated. Surprisingly, drinking water helps more than you think. I don't know why, but it has always helped me.

Just hang in there. If the pain persists for more than a week or so, call your doctor and ask if you should come in, or what you should do. I'm sure it will go away on its own soon enough though.

4. Hi Joshua, Glad you are feeling better. There are ways to release the pressure using acupressure points. If you have a look at my facial massage page you can find them there. This should empty them properly rather than just mask the pain.
