Making a living when you have fibromyalgia?
...........except minimizing stressful work hours. I don't feel able to take care of my health if I work more than 40 hours a week. I do all my own cooking, cleaning, laundry and house projects, so those count as "work" during my weeks. If I work in a job that pays more than $35,000/year, it is always too high of stress for too many hours a week, and my diet, exercise, self-care slides. Any thoughts?

1. Get over it. I've had fibro for years. For two years I took care of my husband (terminal cancer), my mother-in-law (heart attacks), my step grand-daughter (2 1/2 now), taught full time and went to college. Now I work two jobs and take care of my elderly wheel chair bound aunt. Don't let your weakness define you. I figure I'm going to hurt no matter where I am, so I might as well be living!

3. Well then maybe you should consider changing fields, maybe get some more education so you can learn a field you can do from home?
If its simply a question of you cant live without the money then you will not be able to just stop working. Its a question people with fibromyalgia have to deal with earlier than most people have to think about it.
I think with better health management you may be able to have a better life. Eventually we make concessions to our disorder. Its learning to not always having to be in charge of something. We learn whats important in life. Most people with fibro are classic A type personalities, who think they need to be everything to everybody.
Please seek a support group and ask for lifestyle hints that can make a huge difference in your level of health.
