2. avoid sugar and artifical sweeterners.....use natural sweeteners sparingly like honey, molasses, stevia. also stop white flour and highly processed foods, lean meat, without steroids and hormones is best, organic foods...the pain of fibro in many people has been linked to food sensitivites from additives and preservatives. A good Dr Jacob Teitelbaum is a leading authority in the area of Fibromyalgia....his book Pain Free 1-2-3 is excellent...maybe you can find it at a library or second hand bookstore. Water aerobics is a good choice for exercise...the warm water and slight restistance of the water is a good way to get moving. Below is a link to Dr Teitelbaum's website...lots of usual information there for you and your doctor.

3. I have lost weight by following Dr. Don Colbert's program from a small book. I can't do extreme exercise, but I gleaned some good knowledge abt. nutrition and the glycemic index that I wasn't familiar with. The book I have is: "The Bible Cure for Weight Loss and Muscle Gain". I used to only count calories, but this is so much better. You need alot of roughage in your diet. I've heard he has different kinds of books for different diseases, ie. high blood pressure, etc. Here is his website: www.drcolbert.com

4. This is a good study I found at pubmed while looking for info on systemic lupus. This type of diet has been discussed throughout the web, but here is the actual study (below). Basically, you should have an ANA test done and describe your symtpoms in detail to a few doctors to see if you really have Fibromyalgia. It is real, but when there are physical manifestations that can be observed (like Raynauds, GERD, etc.), you may have a connective tissue disease of sorts. Avoid all things that mnake your symptoms worse. I have systemic lupus for 6 years and have not used painkillers, cortisteroids, or any serious toxic meds. You can avoid a lot and actually become really normal when you eat all things that make you feel good. Start with slowly avoiding foods and drink that make you ill. Don't excercise until you get your diet in check. Then add excercise very slowly. You can do this and make it work.

5. Glutathione: The Body's Master Antioxidant glutathione (GSH) is a small protein produced naturally in our cells when certain required elements are present. It functions both as an antioxidant and an antitoxin and is a major defense system against illness and aging. Our glutathione level actually indicates our state of health and can predict longevity. Although there are more than 60,000 published papers on the beneficial effects of glutathione replacement, it is still largely ignored by mainstream medicine. . In the near future the importance of glutathione will be widely recognized because it has the ability to boost the immune system and fight off the damage of free radicals on the cells.

Glutathione has been shown to slow down the aging process, detoxify and improve liver function, strengthen the immune system, and reduce the chances of developing cancer. Glutathione also works to help improve mental functions, increase energy, improve concentration, permit increased exercise, and improve heart and lung function - just to name a few.

Increasing Age and Other Factors Reduce the Body’s Production and Utilization of GSH. Research has shown that individuals who have low levels of glutathione are susceptible to chronic illness. Research shows that GSH levels decline by 8% to 12% per decade, beginning at the age of 20. Levels of glutathione are further reduced by continual stress upon the immune system such as illness, infection, and environmental toxins. As we now know, a lowered immune system can bring about illness and disease. This is a ferocious cycle. While you need glutathione for a productive immune system, a weakened immune system hampers the production of glutathione.

Supplements Containing Glutathione Alone Will NOT Increase the Body’s GSH Levels. It is pointless to purchase supplements that merely contain glutathione, because the digestive system breaks down ingested glutathione and it will not be absorbed into your system. On the other hand, MaxGXL™ provides the proper nutrients needed to promote the body's own ability to manufacture and absorb glutathione. MaxGXL™ also aids in liver support by destroying environmental poisons helping the liver to function as the main production site and storehouse for glutathione.
