Website for fibromyalgia friendly diets?
My partner has terrible fibro. I have always been a (relatively) good eater (ie, lots of veggies and protein) and he has improved considerably since we have been together. The other day he suffered a set back which I suspect had to do with disgusing canned meatballs he ate, against my advice. I highly suspect that his condition could be improved on a diet that eliminated preservatives.
Anyone know of websites that could possibly affirm this and provide help and/or recepies?
He's not so sure it would help and cannot work right now so is worried about the increased cost so it would help if I could sway him.

1. www.atkins.com
I was about 6 weeks into his diet and woke up one day free of the pain I have endured for 20 years. I also suffered no more IBS while on his diet.
I also have taken for the last 16 years Desprimine at 75 mg per day. I have yet to stop taking the Desprimine since I find it hard to stay on Atkins. (I really like breads, pasta’s and candy) but I really think that products with wheat in them (white or otherwise) isn't all that good for you.
I also find that with fibro that the amount of QUALITY sleep you can get is really important.
And there are other diseases that can mimic Fibro like Diabetes and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
I feed my feeder pigs a diet of soaked in water wheat & alfalfa hay & supplements. The wheat makes them grow fast and puts on weight for the pigs. I can't feed this to my sows however as they get arthritis and go lame on the wheat diet.
So a lame sow doesn't produce good sized litters of piglets. So on a wheat diet I can expect a comfortable lifespan of 8 to 9 months hence the reason I feed it to the butcher pigs. If I want to keep them around longer I cannot feed them this diet.
Since pigs and humans are really close to the same in most processes (digestion, metabolism etc) I figured that wheat probably isn't all that great for humans either.
A friend of mine was complaining about as he calls it..."gastro-intestinal distress" and feeling sluggish I told him why don't you give up anything with wheat in it for a while and see what happens....he lost 25 pounds, his energy level is back...and no more distress problems...
So Atkins is all about no flour (wheat) and no sugar, including some vegetables and fruits that are high in sugar for a period of time and then start adding these things back in one at a time until such a time that you feel a change or start gaining weight back....but this is hard to do even though I felt much much better (and lost 50 pounds) on his diet it is really hard to get back to doing that again.
I guess one just has to make the decision to (or feel crappy enough) to get with the program again.
2. I have fibro and I would suggest the national website for fibro. Sometimes foods with preservatives can cost more than foods without. Increase intake of foods like turkey which has the needed tryptophan in it. I am symptom free but it is because of medication not foods.
