home remedies for a 3 day headache?

i have had a headache for 3 straight days now. all i want to do is sleep, eat, use the bathroom, and go back to sleep. i dont feel like doing anything but sleeping. im not weak, tired or exhausted, my head just hurts badly. normally when i have a headache, i take some pain killers and it goes away immediately.
this time around, the pills arent working.

i dont want to go to the doctor because i have kids at home that needs me and my husband has to keep his job. the last time i went to the doctor, i stayed there for almost 3 days because they couldnt find anything wrong and i racked up $8000 in medical bills.

why am i having this 3 day headache and what can i do for help?
the pills normally work but this one time, it didnt. i drink a lot(i mean A LOT) of water, and i dont drink coffee or tea.
i dont have any sensitivity to lights, just the sun. if i go outside in 85 or hotter degree weather, my head will be hurting ALL day long. so i keep myself hydrated and i try to avoid the heat.

1. pills aren't helping -alert- see a doctor.

keep yourself hydrated, drink coffee/tea
try not to take a lot of salty stuff

2. You should go to the emergency room. A headache like that could mean that you are seriously ill. I know you are worried about your kids, but they need you to be healthy and alive.

3. flashy lights? sensitivity to light? My husband used to get headaches like that, with the light thingies...docs said migraines. He took every kind of OTC painkillers, didn't work. I gave him allergy medicine out of desperation just so he could sleep, he got to sleep, but woke up with the headache. So I told him to put his head under a coild runing faucet( tub) his headache went away. It works for regular headaches mostly.. but it worked on his migraine..maybe it'll help you..
