How to relieve Fibromyalgia?

I have a friend with severe Fibromyalgia and was wondering if there were any natural remedies or vitamins or treatments like a massage or something that could help relieve his pain? He's 15 so the doctor doesn't want to pump him full of medication..

Thanks guys!

1. A lady in our city "cured" hers though hard work. She decided to build a castle tower in her backyard out of big stones. She had fibromyalgia and did the hard work of moving every stone herself. It took her two years to complete it. She said this CURED her fibromyalgia. Maybe she never really had it. Maybe it was the hard labor that fixed it. I don't know.

I will look for a link - the story was in our local paper.

2. anyone who has been 'cured' never had real fms

fms is highly overdiagnosed by incompetant docs who label any little ache as fms

there are things that may help--optimizeing your health with diet and exercise can help--but will not eliminate the symtoms,,

antiseizure meds like lyrica should be okay for a teen

the snri's may be an issue for a teen as they may cause a teen to become suicidal

3. no cure with fibromyalgia....but for a teen i would suggest Reiki treatments. Reiki is not invasive and helps the pain. Reiki is done in hospitals to help those in pain, etc. you might check out www.reiki.org to learn about it. i would also suggest counseling to help the teen to deal with his everyday situations that will arise with have fms. fibromyalgia never goes away and he'll have to deal with a lot in his lifetime. good luck! nan

4. I had Fibromyalgia for more than eight years and also was told that there is no cure... I searched for about one year and then treated myself. After one year I was totally healed and that is six years ago, no symptoms came back at all! During my healing process I have written a report about all what I have done. It is pretty long and not what most people who are suffering from Fibromyalgia are wanting to read. I understand that all wanting to find a quick cure to get rid of their pain. That's not what I can offer. My conclusion is that Fibromyalgia and probably all diseases in general are part of ones personal growing process. It is a challenge, that needs ones responsibility and ones engagement. One needs to realize that one is not a victim. One needs to step out of dependencies... Indeed, it is a tough work with and on oneself. But I can tell you that it is worth the effort! You can read my testimonial at: http://falconblanco.com/health/
I ensure you that there is absolutely no money involved. My only intention is, to help others, as I know from my experience how painful and difficult it is to deal with this *challenge*.
The most important is, that you know that healing from Fibromyalgia is possible, even though all around and the doctors tell you that there is no cure and you have to live with it!
Read what I have written and make up your own mind!
By the way: I have also healed myself from an inguinal hernia and every body said that only surgery can repair this. I have proofed them all wrong! I'm completely healed! At my Web site I have also written about it...
