I am attending chiropractic sessions for my knee pain, am I doing the right thing?
I have had knee pain for 6 years now. My problem is tiny arthritis on both knees and my left leg has turned outwards. The specialists say I don't need a surgery at this stage, so I am attending chiropractic. I have attended 4 sessions so far but I don't see any change, the questions is whether to continue or stop before any other damage is done to the knees.

1. A private physio will be more effective in giving you exercises that will help you cope with the pain and discomfort from the arthritis you have already had diagnosed. A physion will teach you how to help yourself.
A chiropractor should not treat you much longer if no result is being seen.
2. Typically, chiropractors should be avoided, as they are not real doctors and in most cases do more harm than good, all the while taking your money and recommending more alignments.
Instead, you will see much better results by eating healthy foods and getting some regular low impact exercise. Low impact exercise is essential, as it helps strengthen your muscles. Water aerobics and walking are two good exercises, but make sure to check with your doctor first.
Learning to live with arthritis is also a big step, which is where you identify what tasks are difficult for you and then find ways to make them easier.
3. Seeing how you have been dealing with this pain for years it has most likely resulted in you changing the way you walk and has thrown your hips, legs, knees and legs out of alignment. Not only will a chiro have to adjust you to get your body back to where it "should" be but he also has to retrain your muscles as well because they have gotten use to the new way you walk. 4 sessions is not a long time at all to see a chiro. For a problem as sever as this he may want to see you 2-3Xs a week for three weeks so he can constantly put everything back in alignment. And get you body to remember the correct position.
Keep a positive outlook and a few more sessions.
4. u have had the problem for six years~ four sessions are not enough to help the problem keep going~ not even pain meds or surgery would that fast
