If the base pain of fibromyalgia is eliminated, will all other fm symptoms cease?
Basically, are the other symptoms only due to the chronic pain?

1. The cause of fibromyalgia is not known and there is no known effective way of treating it all symptoms at once Although they are things that can be taken to help with some of them, pain is a symptom of fibromyalgia and not the cause of it so treating that pain will not cure the other symptoms, Regards
2. i doubt it..
the problem is caused by dysfuntion in the brain--so treating a symtpm (pain) will not help the other symptom..
but the process of regulating the brain to help the pain, may also help the other symtpoms
research has shown that there is a problem in the brain with the way the pain signals are processed by the brain
3. No, because pain is a consequence of fibromyalgia. The same apply to the other symptoms. Obviously this is right only if pain has been treated as a symptom. If pain has been treated by treating fibromyalgia, the other symptoms would abate.
The brain has got noting to do in the origin of fibromyalgia. The changes are a secondary effect of fibromyalgia like with all chronic pains. This story has been invented by Big Phrama to sell their antiepileptics. It represents a 6 billion$ market a year!
