Headache Remedies in Pregnancy?

Any suggestions? I am about 6 weeks along and my head is killing me! I used to take Migrin for my migraines, but I don't think that is safe in pregnancy. Doc is obviously closed tonight.

1. fill the bathtub up with luke warm water and lay down in the tub with a wet cloth over your face, that helps me. The only thing you can take is Tylenol.

2. You can't take Ibuprofen or Motrin nor Aspirin. Only thing you can take is Tylenol. But it's strongly urged to not take anything if you can help it if you are 12 weeks of pregnant or less. But taking it once or twice won't hurt. Just don't be taking Tylenol every 6-8 hours for days straight.

3. try calling an all night pharmacist like Walgreen's or cvs or eckerds (be sure to talk to THE pharmacist) and ask them. if they don't help you out, call your dr. anyway..he should have an answering service or on call nurse or something for that. but pharmacists know just as much as Dr's when it comes to meds.

4. Tylenol. No ibuprofen (motrin/advil) or aspirin but Tylenol is safe. Try a nice relaxing bath, laying in a dark, quiet room. Sometimes a cold compress across the back of the neck or on your forehead will help too.

Good luck. Headaches are miserable.

5. This may sound strange but if you eat almonds (about 10-15) it will relieve migraines. Also, try putting your hands in hot water, it's believed that it pulls the pressure away from your head and therefore relieves headaches. Hope this is somewhat helpful. It's worth a try and it won't interfere with any other medication you might be taking while you're pregnant.

6. my dr. gave me tylenol with codeine...try a tylenol pm...or call a pharmacist

7. I had a lot of headaches during my pregnancy, and a friend of mine told me about pressure points...there is a point in your hand, in between your thumb and pointer finger, (in the squishy part) that if you squeeze while taking a few deep breaths, it just melts your headache away. I don't know exactly why it works, but it does.

8. I use to put ice on my head and had my fiancee massage my head and neck. They have this new thing out for headaches its not a pill you just rub it on your for head or where ever the pain is. its called head-on and its sorta like icy hot but it really does work.

9. My dr. told me to take sudafed PE Sinus Headache since tylonal did not seem to work

10. I'm feeling your pain right now, sister. Take two Tylenol. Use a cold compress on your neck for 20 minutes if it's a tension headache. If it's a sinus headache, alternate between hot and cold. Insist on back, head, and neck rubs from your husband (if that doesn't help the headache, it at least feels good). If you haven't had any caffeine today, try a Coke. There have been days when that's really all I needed. Good luck!

11. I had the same exact problem this time around. My doctor actually recommended me to get my eyes checked. That helped out a lot for me because I do wear glasses and needed a new prescription. I also took Tylenol around the clock since that's the only thing we are allowed to take. When you first feel the headache coming on pop two Tylenol and apply a cool patch or something to your head. This method worked wonders for me also. I also suffer from migraines so I know how you feel. Hang in there because the further along I got the better the headaches did become. I am now 39 weeks and I only get them occasionally now instead of around the clock.
