1. On your hand (left or right) press down gently on skin between your thumb and your index finger. Works for me.
2. tea
3. try melatonin tea
4. Dr. Pepper, or the reason tea worked is, the caffiene increased the flow of blood. If might be willing to take an aspirin,(BTW the oldest painkiller in the world not sure you can get willow bark tea but...) the combination of adding a blood thinner can really help the migraines. It is my wonder combo. Caffiene (I don't drink coffee) and aspirin. It helps with circulating the blood.
5. Please check to see if you have any TMJ problems and are clenching or grinding at night, and even clenching during the daytime. About 50% of my clients that have terrible headaches or migraines experience this problem, and it is the CAUSE. Are your back and neck tight? Do you have mild headaches in the morning when you wake up, that are right behind your eyes? Does it get progressively worse throughout the day? If so, you may have this problem. It is always the first thing I check.
Massage therapy from someone who specializes in pain management can help! Trigger points are at the bottom of the head behind the ears, in the groove where the head and neck meet!
Wish you well.
6. In our home we use therapeutic magnets, and they work great. My husband works outside and gets really bad migraines in the summer heat. All he does it take one of his magnetic insole out of his shoe put it on his head sit and relax for about 10-15 min. and the migraine is gone.
7. Well, i used to have tension headaches from my head to my neck. I had them about 3 times per week for 3 years when i was younger, because my vision was bad which caused me to strain my eyes and migraines to appear. I didn't take pills, because back then i couldn't swallow them!:(
To get rid of them i tried many things. Some things that worked were:
1. sleeping.i found that when i slept and woke up, the headache dissappeared.
2. lots of water. i know that you drink a lot, so you might want to drink more, or it might just not work for you.
3. massage. i would massage my neck and temples (on the side) to help get rid of the headache.
4. Lastly, i would drop everything that i am doing. instead, i would just hop into bed and try not to think about anything that would create more stress.
I would recommend taking asprin. I take it now, and it really helps. Also, i got contacts, so my eyes dont strain. I learned from my eye doctor that the headaches were caused by me streesing my eyes. Maybe if you go to your doctor, he can find the cause of your headaches, maybe its stress or it might be something else. I hope you get rid of your headaches, i know how much pain they cause :[
