1. Webmd.com, search fibromyalgia
2. Like it hurts to have your skin touched, pins and needles poking your body in the areas that are the most sensitive.
3. Pain ANYWHERE if you work out too hard. Mostly it's pain in the neck and shouders, and a very deep sense of fatigue. It feels like having the flu all the time.
4. It is a relatively new diagnosis with lots of controversial opinions. Mainly it is pain without any association to injury or arthritic condition. Fibromyalgia has insurance companies scrambling for answers as they really do not want to pay for treatment of something that has yet to be clearly defined by the medical profession.
The following wikipedia description clearly states that the nature of it is not understood.
Fibromyalgia (FM or FMS) is a debilitating chronic syndrome (constellation of signs and symptoms) characterized by diffuse or specific muscle, joint, or bone pain, fatigue, and a wide range of other symptoms. It is not contagious, and recent studies suggest that people with fibromyalgia may be genetically predisposed[1]. It affects more females than males, with a ratio of 9:1 by ACR (American College of Rheumatology) criteria[2]. Fibromyalgia is seen in 3% to 6% of the general population, and is most commonly diagnosed in individuals between the ages of 20 and 50. The nature of fibromyalgia is not well understood, with many frustrated physicians driven to accusing their patients of feigning illness. There are few, if any, treatments available[3], and there is no cure, but the disease is not life-threatening.
5. I don't believe in this so called disease, just a lazy persons way of getting attention or to get out of work or pain medication or whatever!
6. First if you have this the dr will perform a serious of touching trigger sites... I think that is what they are called. It is pain unexplained. And to someone who does not have it they see a person who looks healthy but is in pain and feels tired much of the time. I have this but I also have systemic Lupus and Osteoarthritis.. The person who answered you and said we were lazy is an insensitvie person ... my general pratictioner sent me to a specialist on how to continue to treat my lupus and she diagnosed me with the FIbro.. I did not go looking for a diagnosis.. And I am not lazy I might not feel like getting out of bed But I do so every morning... at 4am to drive a half hour to work and I work 7-10 hrs a day then drive home... I do a least two loads of laundry three nights a week... I cook dinner for my family every night and pack lunches for myself, husband and teenage son this is what I do the laundry ect from 4pm until 8 plus I get a shower and care for a few pets have over 20 house plants and I voulnteer at a senior center one night a week.. yeah I hurt but oh well. I think it all depends upon the individual if all you do is whine and feel sorry for your self things will be worse. Good luck..check out web md

Yes, I have fibromyalgia. But, It took a while for any Dr. To diagnose me with it because I guess They weren't sure it was a real condition when They thought I had it. But now For sure I do have it. You can really tell you can have it when the weather changes.
