is it possible to have a knee pain at 21?
Hey,
Am 21 years old and i have knee pain. When I sit idle for a long time and try walking I have to limp for sometime and then get back to normal after sometime. The doctor said that he suspects some fluid formation ..When I checked the net it said that fluid formation is due to arthritis! I just want to know if there are chances to get arthritis at such a young age?Does this knee pain relate to any other problem?
P.S: The problem is with the right knee only.

5. Absolutely - you can also have arthritis @ 21 - but that is not the only reason for knee pain - you could have cartilage or ligament damage or ACL tear. See an orthopedic or sports medicine Dr.
6. Hello Puppy, Let us see if the following helps:
I had developed a similar problem in left knee. Whenever I kept knee bent for some time while sitting or even lying on my back with knee bent, I got pain in left knee but while walking of standing there was no pain, apart from initial limping for few steps due to existing pain. Initially I thought it was due to minor problem because my knee might have remain wrongly bent during sleep or something like that and it will go away on its own. But the problem persisted for six-seven months and was getting worse. Suddenly one day it occurred to me that I always kept my mobile phone in left pocket of my pant. So then and there I shifted the mobile phone to right pocket and never kept it in left pocket of my pant. Within a week pain in left knee started subsiding and after one month I had no pain, only sometimes I get faint pain if left knee is left uncomfortably bent for longer time.
It is unbelievable that a mobile phone was culprit, but the fact is there for me to believe. My left knee had suffered due to misstep 10 years ago and may be mobile phone's radio waves reactivated the problem slowly and manifested in pains after one year of keeping the mobile phone regularly in left pocket.
Your case may not be due to mobile phone, but try thinking what else could cause the pain only in your right knee.
7. Any disease affecting the knee joint can cause pain in the knee. Age related factors can cause thinning of the cartilage as the water retention ability of the tissue is reduced, which leads to pain during movement. Other conditions such as disturbed growth hormone release, diabetes and gout are also reasons for knee pain.
