Has anyone ever had a Neurologist treat you for Migraine headache using injections in the back of the skull?

A few years ago I had been treated for migraine headaches by a VA Hospital Neurologist, he gave me four injections of ( not sure ) of what I believed to be Anistethic in the back of the skull. I't relieved the headache within 10-15 minutes, has anyone ever had this type of treatment, did it work ? any feedback would be appreciated.

1. not heard of this therapy but intend to google it now out of curiosity!

2. Were you ever given an MRI
My friend had bad headaches and the result of the MRI showed early symtoms of MS

Headaches are caused by a myriad of factors, stress, high blood pressure, etc.
